Bhutan Society of London - Fusion Economics and Bhutan's GNH

Bhutan Society of London - Fusion Economics and Bhutan's GNH

On invitation of the Bhutan Society of London, on April 20, 2015, Laurence Brahm discussed the importance of Bhutan's GNH as a pillar of Himalayan Consensus when presenting on "Fusion Economics" to a full meeting of the society. GNH (gross national happiness) coined by the Fourth King of Bhutan as a counter-intuitive approach to GNP calls for holistic protection of environment and culture to re-balance the excesses of neo-liberal economics. Michael Rutland who was tutor to the Fourth King and is now a Bhutanese citizen, is on the Advisory Board of Himalayan Consensus Institute and kindly arranged the talk to further understanding of Bhutan's GNH concept. The lecture was convened at the Polish Club where a diner was hosted afterwards.
